Naledge - Luxury Freestyle

Professor Naledge eats up this Add-2 instrumental. Always nice to hear from 1/2 of Kidz In the Hall

Naledge – Luxury Freestyle

Lupe Fiasco on Vocalo 89.5

3 Lupe posts in a row seem a bit odd, but we can't close our ears when truth is spoken. Lu talks about Kanye apologizing to George W. Bush and his personal opinion of Bush. My name is Adam Ivory and I approve this message.

Lupe Fiasco @ Radio One Conference

Wasalu discusses Soulja Boy and the creation of SLR.

Marsha Ambrosius - Far Away (Prod. by Just Blaze)

Marsha's voice is amazing. Just Blaze is one of my favorite producers in existence. This is an amazing song, off her upcoming album, Late Nights and Early Mornings, due to drop in early 2011.

Add-2 - "Dream Girl"

Add-2 is heavily slept on, even by me. A great visual off the mixtape A Tale of Two Cities Vol. IV, directed by Da Visionaryz.

Adele - Rolling In The Deep

I've heard of Adele, but I never took the time to appreciate her music. Now I'm sorta hooked. This is off her sophomore album, 21, release date undecided.

Adele – Rolling In The Deep

Blu – BNG prod by Flying Lotus

Blu is really starting to grow on me. The production done by the great Flying Lotus and this video is a really crazy. Very impressive though.

Jean Grae - Bridge (Prod. by RJD2)

Spotted at eskay's. I've been a huge Jean Grae fan since I heard Taco Day in my freshman year of high school. Great to see she's still doing her thing. Fresh new ish off the upcoming Year of the Blacksmith mixtape.

Chris Faust - Re-cip-ro-ca-tion (feat. Rocki Evans)

Excuse the sabbatical, that we had to take, life happens. This video is real trippy, not really feeling Theo's shirt, but the track is great.

ItsTheReal - Jay ElecLeBronica

Gotta appreciate anytime the Rosenthal's make any sort of commentary on Hip-Hop, because while it's always hilarious, it's also always true. Hit the jump for another reason why it's laughable that Puffy really thought Jay might've signed to Bad Boy. *looks at Diddy, Ed-Lover voice* C'mon, son!

Christ Faust - The Case of Said Rapper

Spotted at 2dopeboyz. More from MrGoodDayGoodNight, off his upcoming Faust mixtape.

Editorial: Balance

Last night, as it is every night, found me awake at 12:20 in the morning with no desire for rest. I switched on the television and noticed that The Dark Knight was playing. I was fortunate enough to catch the last 10 minutes of it, and witness a scene that would deeply impact my mind; enough that I felt the need to translate my thoughts to proper prose so as to impart my thoughts with others.

Jay Electronica: The Announcement + Shiny Suit Theory

So, for those of you who didn't know, Jay Electronica is now signed to Roc Nation.

[-_-]

We at frndofthepeople didn't post anything on it because, frankly, we didn't know wtf to think. These tracks are are pretty smooth though, let's not sleep on Jay's production game. The Announcement > Shiny  Suit Theory, in my opinion. Download/listen below, hit the jump for some live footage of  The Announcement.

In regards to Ms. Amanda Diva, I am absolutely smitten. She is beautiful, talented, and her voice is like none other that I have ever heard. Anyway, let me get off of that for now. Here is the latest installation off her up and coming EP "Technicolor Lover". I really enjoy this song and video because it speaks volumes to many young black men we see in this situation. Enjoy!

J. Cole - Friday Night Lights Trailer

Jermaine links up with BBGUN, the mind behind the music videos for Simba and Who Dat, for a trailer of the upcoming mixtapes. I like the developing storyline behind each mixtapes concept. Cole World. I'm still learning HTML, so I messed with the video size. *shrugs* sue me, it's good promotion =]

J. Cole - Before I'm Gone

A snippet of this track came out a few weeks back, but I don't do snippets, so here's the full version of the track, off Cole's mixtape, Friday Night Lights, dropping this Friday.

Pharrell - Hoppin' Over Fences

Sometimes it pays to have insomnia. Spotted this @ onsmash, this is straight up the skateboarder's anthem. No lyrics, just an instrumental, but I dig it. Will be featured on the OST for Rob Dyrdek's Street Dreams

Johnny Polygon: In Treatment w/ actor/comedian/unlicensed therapist T.J. Miller

Big Remo - Go Ladies

So I'm a huge fan of 9th and I haven't really been following him since the break up with Little Brother. I know he has a lot of projects going right now and the recent release of 9th's Opus: It's A Wonderful World Music Group Volume 1. Though my awareness has been scarce one thing I can always count on from 9th is dope ass beats. This latest track comes from Big Remo entitled "Go Ladies". Great song I wish it was a little longer.

-Dope beats. Dope Rhymes. What more do ya'll want?

Talib Kweli – 1st Time f. Consequence

I saw that this track came out a few days ago. I believe this is the finalized version and actually has the verse by Cons. I won't lie that when it was initially released I slept on it because I'm not super sold on Consequence. However, I listened to it and this is a dope track. Wouldn't expect anything less. Download this. Not now but right now.

Blu - KeepItGoing feat U-God (prod. by Flying Lotus)

I cannot stress enough how underrated Blu is. Featuring U-God? Word? *throws W's up* Apparently there's a video for this coming up. This beat is trippy as hell.

TiRon - Generation Next

Peeped this on TiRon's Tumblr. Had the opportunity to chop it up with this guy a week and a half ago after his performance at CMJ in Santos Party House. He's a very passionate and intelligent individual. Dope music, 'nuff said.

Chris Faust - Rent Is Too Damn High f. Sunny Jones and Carras Paton

Almost missed this. The artist formerly known as Print drops a new gem with this soulful complaint about bills. Always was a big fan of Chris Faust since his last mixtape Comic Books: Unlimited. Great song to vibe to for the night.

Aloe Blacc – The Dark End of the Street (James Carr Cover)

Spotted at 2dopeboyz. Ever had a moment where you thought an artist was weird, and it took you a while but eventually they grew on you? Yeah, that didn't happen for me with Aloe Blacc, always been a fan. Fresh off his European tour, Mr. Blacc released this track, which apparently was done for a project by Carhartt of the same title. Sit back, relax.

Theophilus London – Life of a Lover (rmx) f. Jessie Boykins III & Blu

Spotted this on 2dopeboyz. Shake is skeptical as to whether this is the CDQ or not, but he's right, this is gonna hold the fans over for now. Production is so smooth on this.

Revolutionary Thought: A Salute to Jasmine Mans

“If we, as an audience, do not hold up a mirror to our artists, then who will?

Late night trawling through the web always leads to good things for me. Tonight found me on allhiphop.com, where I read the current editorial by the gifted poet Jasmine Mans, a response to the poem she performed at the University of Wisconsin that seemed to either inspire or enrage viewers, titled “The Miseducation of a Barbie Doll”. View the performance here.

If I tell you that I started writing this editorial 2 minutes after watching the video and reading her editorial, it would not express enough to level to which her words moved me. Her words were loud, passionate, brash…and true, and it is embarrassing to realize that many will debate this fact. Many will dismiss Mans as “a hater”, when in fact she is merely being Socratic in that she is presenting these questions forcing; us to look at a growing issue in order to stimulate our minds. Who better than the fans should critically observe their artists and be the first to call them out when they’re doing things wrong? I’m a Nicki Minaj fan as well, so I understand Mans emotions. I recognize the moment in myself when I took a step back and thought…what is Nicki Minaj’s role in Hip-Hop? Or better yet, what will her legacy be? Is this the future our young women have to look forward to?

Le Poisson Rouge 10.23.2010

So. This is my first post. Pretty memorable moment. I'm a little behind in doing this in comparison to my colleague Adam Ivory, but I digress.

I went to Le Poisson Rouge last weekend to see Jesse Boykins III. He was accompanied by Machine Drum (who I am a big fan of now) and they literally killed it. They performed a few songs off his upcoming album "The Love Apparatus" and also "Tabloids" off "The Beauty Created".

More pics after the jump
